    3. Verify that the information provided is accurate.

    Controlled Substances
Scheduled drugs, or controlled substances are 'prescription only' medications that are more closely regulated by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) due to their potency and potential for abuse. Because of the nature of these medications, they require a greater level of handling during the shipment process.

Schedule II Drugs (examples: Ritalin, Percodan, Adderall, Demerol) cannot be shipped by Savon.com. These types of prescriptions are best filled at one of our local family of pharmacies.

Schedule III-V Drugs (examples: codeine based medications, most prescriptions sleeping aids, most tranquilizers) Adult signature is required on delivery of these controlled drug prescription(s). FEDEX OR UPS WILL NOT DELIVER A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PRESCRIPTION WITHOUT AN ADULT SIGNATURE! Please be aware of this requirement when selecting a delivery address. You may want to use your work address instead.

If you have questions about this requirement, please contact us.

How we will receive the prescription:
The method by which we will receive the new prescription is entirely up to you. These are the options you can choose from:
    1. My doctor will fax in the prescription.
    2. My doctor will call in the prescription.
    3. I want the pharmacist to call my doctor.
    4. My doctor will mail the prescription in.
    5. I will mail my prescription to Savon.com.
    • Mailing your prescription to us is the slowest way to get your prescription filled. Asking your doctor to phone or fax the prescription to us is the fastest way to get your prescription filled.

    • If you would like us to phone the doctor, please make sure to provide the correct phone number and doctor information. Because doctors can be very difficult to reach, it may take more time to process your order if you choose this method.

    • You can have the prescription called in, faxed in, or mailed in before or after you have placed your order on Savon.com. However, Savon.com cannot process the prescriptions until you have completed your order request on Savon.com.
    Prescription Information:
    • Please contact us if you would like to add or remove a prescription from your order, after you have completed the order process.
    • Please provide your doctor's name for each prescription request.
    • The name of the medication and medical condition is helpful, but not required. We will verify all new prescription requests with your doctor before we proceed with the order processing.

    Prescription FAQ's
How do I take my medication if the directions say to take it three times a day?
If your directions say to take three times a day, take your medication every 8 hours, preferably around the clock unless otherwise instructed by your physician or pharmacist. Some medication will do just fine with divided doses during your waking hours; others need to be more exact. It is always best to check with your pharmacist for each prescription. You can ask your pharmacist when you pick up your order, you can use our feature, or you can contact us with any of your prescription questions.

What should I do if I miss a dose of my medication? Should I double up on my next dose?
It is usually not necessary to double up on medication doses, but always contact your physician or pharmacist to make sure.

Will you call my doctor if there are no refills on my prescription?
Yes, if there are no refills remaining on your prescription we will contact your doctor for you. This request can take between 24 and 72 hours, so please allow ample time when ordering your refills. We will notify you immediately if your doctor does not authorize your refill(s).

How will Savon.com receive my prescription? How do I get my prescription to Savon.com?
There are several options offered through the web site, which include Savon.com contacting your physician or your physician contacting us, either by phone or fax. And prescriptions can also be mailed to us.

How can I learn more about the drug my doctor prescribed for me?
You can call or talk to your pharmacist when you pick up your order, you can use our Ask the Pharmacist feature or you can contact us with any of your prescription questions.

I am experiencing a reaction to my medication. What should I do?
If this seems serious, contact your nearest emergency room or dial 9-1-1. If it seems less threatening, we would need to speak to you directly to offer the best course of action, and to update your patient profile if necessary to possibly avoid future reactions. Please contact us at 1-877-SAVON55 (1-877-728-6655). A registered pharmacist is available from 6am until 10pm Pacific Time, seven days a week. If you should require assistance after hours, please contact our Customer Support Center toll-free at 1-888-873-1772. They can connect you to one of our 24-hour pharmacies. Or you may call our toll-free 24-hour medication information line at 1-800-622-4SAV.

How will I be informed of any drug interactions that may exist with my current medications and my new prescriptions?
We review all potential interactions, and your physician will be notified of any significant interactions. If this significantly delays the processing of your prescription, you will be notified via email, phone call or both.

Can I order prescriptions for someone other than myself?
Yes, you will need to fill out a complete patient profile for that person, including allergies, medical conditions, current medications and insurance information, so be sure to have this information ready before you start your order.

Can I order more than one prescription at the same time?
Yes, you can order several new, transfer or refill prescriptions at one time. Once you have completed one patient's prescription information, you can go on to add a new, transfer or refill prescription for a different patient, within the same order.

Do I need to contact my doctor for refills/transfers?
No, just contact us and we will do all the needed work for you.

How do I know if my medication has expired?
Any prescription filled by Savon.com will have the expiration date marked clearly on the prescription label. This is the date given to us by the manufacturer of the medication at the time of the production of the medication.

How do I properly store my medications?
Most prescriptions should be stored at room temperature, in a cool, dry place away from moisture. Preferably out of direct sunlight and/or heat. The medicine cabinet in the bathroom is not the best place for medications. Moisture and temperature may affect the stability of the medication. Some prescriptions should be refrigerated. Please consult with your pharmacist to know how best to store your medications.

How should I properly dispose of my used syringes/needles?
Your used syringes/needles can be disposed of by placing them in a sealed container such as a "Sharps" container, designed for such use.

What are the benefits of proper disposal of my syringes/needles?
With proper disposal of your syringes/needles, not only do you protect yourself but you protect others who may accidentally come in contact with the used devices. Often times with improper disposal, needles may wash up on beaches or end up in schoolyards. This can be easily avoided by using proper disposal techniques.

Where can I get a "Sharps" container?
You can purchase a Sharps container via Savon.com or at one of our retail stores. You can also contact the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org for further advice.

How do I use my sharps container?
    • Place the used needle in the sharps container.
    • Do not recap the needle
    • Drop used lancets and syringes, with needles pointing down, into the sharps container.
    • Keep sharps container out of reach of children.
    • Do not fill the container more than three-quarters full.
    • When three-quarters full, tightly seal the container lid with heavy tape.
    • Do not put sharps containers into plastic recycle bins.
    • Be sure to check with your local disposal company for proper disposal.

Who do I contact for a Sharps container return program?
You can contact the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or 1-800-RECYCLE.

How do I dispose of medical waste products?
Medical waste products consist of human and non-human blood, blood products, body fluids, and tissues. Lab wastes contaminated with blood, blood products, body fluids, tissues, potentially infectious material and cultures, and stocks of etiologic agents also constitute medical waste. Dispose of medical waste in a plastic bag or bottle that is not vulnerable to moisture and is resistant to puncturing. Bags must be tied to prevent leaks during handling, storage and transport. Each bag or bottle must be labeled with the international biohazard symbol and the word "Biohazard". Disposal depends on where you live, but you can call your local county health department or you local solid waste company.

What is the metric measurement of a teaspoonful? A tablespoonful?
One teaspoonful is equal to 5 ml, and one tablespoonful is equal to 15 ml.

Are cc and ml the same measurement?
For lay purposes, cc and ml are equivalent measurements, for example, 5 cc = 5 ml.

    Security & Privacy

Confidential information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) technology to ensure privacy and security when submitting an order.

Who sees the information I provide in order to have my prescription filled via Savon.com?
Savon.com has taken measures to safeguard the confidently of information you send to us over the Internet. This information is transmitted directly to the pharmacy and only our pharmacy staff will have access to your prescription information.

Why do you need to know my personal and medical information?
Many state and federal laws require minimal personal information to be on file at the pharmacy where you prescription is being filled. A current list of medications you are taking will help us to avert any potentially harmful drug interactions.

What if I have other questions?
Questions specific to your medication or health condition should be directed to your physician or pharmacist.
Contact us for questions about this service or our website.
